POSITION: JM Sheet Metal Duct Installer
LOCATION: Houston, TX
PAY: up to $27-$30/hour

PRST is hiring a Journey-level Sheet Metal Duct Installer to support a General Contractor on new build at a hospital in the Texas Medical Center. In this role, you’ll earn $27 to $30 an hour, enjoy weekly pay and health insurance benefits. - Hours: Monday to Friday, 6:30 am start. 40 hour/wk. – Occasional OT
- Accurately reading and understanding construction plans to determine ductwork layout, size, and specifications.
- Precisely measuring and cutting 18 Gauge Stainless steel sheet metal using power tools like shears, saws, and metal cutting bandsaws.
- Fabricate (snip, seal, and bend to spec.) and assemble some prefab sheet metal pieces using hand tools and machinery.
- Install rooftop HVAC unit, and some installation will be from a manlift, in the hospital.
- Ensuring tight seals at duct connections using sealant, rivets, screws, or other fastening methods.
- Job duties will also include fastening metal seams, use of duct seal, bolting, and creating supportive framework.
- Making necessary modifications to ductwork on-site to accommodate unforeseen conditions along with any other duties assigned by the supervisor.
- Follow all safety procedure and protocol per state and federal guidelines.
Responsibilities
• OSHA-10 Certification Required - MUST have physical card
• 4 years verifiable previous experience installing steel sheet metal ductwork
• Must be comfortable working out of manlifts, scissor lifts, and from rooftops
• Must be comfortable with fabricating 18-Gauge stainless steel sheet metal ductwork
• Ability to stand, bend, kneel and walk for extended periods throughout the day with or without reasonable accommodation
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation
• Position does require a drug screen
• Position does require a background check
The hourly rate for this position is $$27-$30/hour. This range is a good-faith estimate based on factors such as relevant skills, experience, education, training, geographic location and other considerations permitted by law.
