Journeyman Carpenter responsible for performing advanced carpentry work with minimal supervision. This position requires expertise in commercial, industrial, and residential construction, including blueprint interpretation, layout, framing, finish work, and project coordination. Journeyman Carpenters are expected to maintain high-quality workmanship, mentor less experienced carpenters, and ensure projects are completed safely and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform rough and finish carpentry on commercial, industrial, and residential projects.
- Read, interpret, and execute work from blueprints, drawings, and specifications.
- Layout, build, and install walls, partitions, doors, windows, ceilings, cabinetry, and trim.
- Construct concrete forms, scaffolding, and temporary structures as needed.
- Install door hardware, casework, millwork, and specialty finishes.
- Measure, cut, shape, and assemble building materials with precision.
- Coordinate tasks with project supervisors, contractors, and other trades.
- Train and mentor apprentices and mid-level carpenters.
- Inspect completed work to ensure compliance with project specifications and quality standards.
- Follow OSHA regulations and company safety procedures
Responsibilities
• Be at least 18 years of age
• Minimum 5 years + of experience on commercial, residential and industrial sites
• Ability to stand, bend, kneel and walk for extended periods throughout the day with or without reasonable accommodation
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation
The hourly rate for this position is $28 - $35/hour. This range is a good-faith estimate based on factors such as relevant skills, experience, education, training, geographic location and other considerations permitted by law.
