Tiler is responsible for installing tile, stone, marble, and other hard surface materials on floors, walls, ceilings, and decorative surfaces in residential, commercial, and industrial settings. This role requires precision, attention to detail, and knowledge of layout, cutting, and finishing techniques to ensure high-quality, durable installations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Measure and mark surfaces to ensure accurate tile layout and alignment.
- Prepare surfaces by cleaning, leveling, and applying underlayment or waterproofing materials.
- Mix and apply mortar, thinset, adhesives, and grout.
- Cut and shape tiles using hand tools and power tools (wet saws, tile cutters, grinders).
- Install ceramic, porcelain, stone, marble, mosaic, and specialty tiles.
- Set tiles according to design patterns, blueprints, or client specifications.
- Apply grout, sealants, and finishes for durability and appearance.
- Repair or replace damaged or uneven tile work.
- Ensure proper spacing, leveling, and alignment of all installations.
- Maintain tools, equipment, and a clean, safe job site.
- Follow OSHA safety standards and job site regulations.
Responsibilities
• Be at least 18 years of age
• Minimum 3-5 year of experience on commercial, residential or industrial construction sites
• Ability to stand, bend, kneel and walk for extended periods throughout the day with or without reasonable accommodation
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation
The hourly rate for this position is $25 - $32/hour. This range is a good-faith estimate based on factors such as relevant skills, experience, education, training, geographic location and other considerations permitted by law.
