Job Description
As a carpenter with People Ready Skilled Trades, you will support contractors throughout the Norfolk, VA area. In this temporary role, you’ll earn $35 an hour, enjoy weekly pay, health insurance benefits and a flexible work schedule. Responsibilities
- Prep grade and set structure block
- Install a Trex type tread to path
- Fencing
- Build shed
Qualifications & Experience
- Five years of finish/rough residential carpentry experience
- Strong scheduling and blueprint reading skills as well as knowledge of wood framing, material management, metal doors, hardware install, drywall, trim, cabinets/counter tops, suspended grid, tile install, etc.
- Reliable transportation to and from jobsites
- Basic math skills – addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division on the fly
- OSHA 10 preferred – PeopleReady will help provide your OSHA training
- Able to repeatedly lift 50 pounds in order to load and unload wood and other materials as well as carry needed tools and materials to and from the jobsite
- Possess tools of the trade
The hourly rate for this position is $27.00-$30.00/hour. This range is a good-faith estimate based on factors such as relevant skills, experience, education, training, geographic location and other considerations permitted by law. An employee's pay history will not be a contributing factor where prohibited by local law. Applications are accepted on an ongoing basis unless a deadline is otherwise stated.
