Job Description
PeopleReady Skilled Trades is now hiring sheet metal mechanics for Nassco’s Norfolk yard in Norfolk, VA. We are looking for maintenance mechanics that have commercial and industrial experience. Shift is 6:00 AM to 2:45 PM Must be able to work night shift (as needed) The ideal candidate must have a minimum of 3 years of experience as an maintenance mechanic in the marine shipyard industry. This position is temp to perm. Competitive pay from $25-$29 an hour DOE.

Responsibilities
Must be able to read and interpret mechanical drawings, layout, fabricate, install, and repair sheet metal products related to shipboard construction HVAC and habitability and have an excellent knowledge of the various types of metals and sizes.
Excellent knowledge of Habitability layout and installation of metal joiner (MJ) bulkheads, MJ doors, berths, galleys and office outfitting.
Operate press brake, hand brake, power rollers, hand rollers, general sheet metal fabrication equipment.
Write WAFs and hot work tickets and perform trade quality assurance work, with little to no supervision.
