Job Description

PeopleReady is looking for dedicated HVAC Sheet Metal Workers at the mid-level and journeyman level to be on our team. You will make sure others stay warm in the winter and cool in the summer by making, crafting, or servicing the heating and cooling equipment in buildings. A Journeyman HVAC Sheet Metal Worker installs, operates, maintains, and repairs HVAC/R (heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration) systems, combustion equipment, and industrial air compressors. Sheet Metal Workers are trained in testing, adjusting, and stabilizing mechanical systems as well as servicing them. Workers will use mathematics and pattern layout development methods to build drawings to be used.
Responsibilities
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine the requirements of each project.
- Using appropriate tools and benders to construct sheet metal components, cold boxes, and other HVAC components.
- Support the fabrication and assembly of sheet metal products, including ductwork, fittings, and architectural elements.
- Assist in the installation of sheet metal systems, such as HVAC ductwork and ventilation systems, ensuring compliance with industry standards and project specifications.
- Installing ridged and flex duct as well as ceiling and wall HVAC vents.
- Handle and transport sheet metal materials, equipment, and tools safely and efficiently.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring that all tools and equipment are properly stored and maintained.
- Follow all safety procedures and guidelines to minimize workplace accidents and hazards.
- Checking refrigerants and other HVAC components with gauges and meters.
Qualifications & Experience
- • Five years of experience in commercial or industrial HVAC work preferred
- • Reliable transportation to and from jobsites
- • Possess tools of the trade
- • Basic math skills – addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division on the fly
- • Able to lift 50 pounds in order to load and unload metal and other materials as well as carry needed tools to and from the jobsite
