Job Description
- Plan and complete assigned work with minimal supervision using blueprints and technical drawings.
- Perform layouts involving plates, pipes, and structural shapes, including flat layouts, projections, and compound angles.
- Interpret shipbuilding terminology and identify structural locations in relation to frames, longitudinal stringers, centerlines, and other reference points.
- Read and interpret welding symbols to determine appropriate material preparation requirements.
- Perform tack welding, burning, and other shipfitting tasks as required.
- Operate fabrication equipment and power tools, including shears, saws, presses, and related equipment.
- Create templates for the fabrication and installation of ship structures.
- Assemble foundations, deckhouses, and specialized structural components for various areas of a ship.

Responsibilities
The hourly rate for this position is $30/hour. This range is a good-faith estimate based on factors such as relevant skills, experience, education, training, geographic location and other considerations permitted by law.
