Job Description
PRST is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Welder to join our team in a full-time, temp-to-hire position in the Fredericksburg, VA area. In this full- time role, you'll earn $21-$25 per hour (based on experience), enjoy weekly pay, health insurance benefits and a flexible work schedule. - Fabrication Work: Create gates, posts, brackets, and other components to meet design specifications.
- Blueprint Interpretation: Accurately read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and schematics to guide fabrication and welding tasks.
- Maintenance Tasks: Perform general structural and mechanical maintenance to ensure systems are functioning optimally.
- Equipment Operation: Safely operate a variety of machines, including but not limited to:
- Press brake
- Plasma cutter
- Guillotine
- Lathe
- Mill
- Drill press
- MIG and stick welders
- Bandsaw
- Various power tools
- Material Expertise: Work with carbon steel, solid core materials, and perform MIG welding and uphill welding with precision and attention to detail.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of commercial experience in welding and fabrication.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in MIG welding, uphill welding, working with carbon steel and solid core materials, and blueprint/drawing interpretation.
- Equipment Knowledge: Experience operating a wide range of machinery and tools in a fabrication or maintenance environment.
- Attention to Detail: Ability to produce high-quality work that adheres to technical specifications and design requirements.
- Physical Requirements: Comfortable working in a physically demanding environment, including lifting heavy materials, standing for extended periods, and performing repetitive tasks.
- Safety Focus: Strong commitment to workplace safety and adherence to all safety protocols.
Responsibilities
The hourly rate for this position is $21-$25/hour. This range is a good-faith estimate based on factors such as relevant skills, experience, education, training, geographic location and other considerations permitted by law.
