Job Description
PeopleReady Skilled Trades is currently hiring for a Painter/Loader Position. This position is responsible to support the structural steel fabrication shop’s operations by performing tasks that involve painting steel components, safely loading and unloading materials, and handling heavy materials using appropriate equipment. This role ensures that steel parts are properly prepared and coated, materials are efficiently moved and organized, and safety standards are upheld throughout the process. The position plays a crucial role in maintaining workflow efficiency, quality of finished products, and
overall shop safety.
Responsibilities
- Prepare/Properly mix paint and solvents based on SSPC and manufacturer specs
- Prepare no paint areas as outlined in specs
- Ensure proper cure time between coats
- Organize and coordinate outgoing shipments
- Manage inventory of all needed materials
- Maintaining accurate records to include mix time, activation time and application time
Qualifications & Experience
- High school education or equivalent
- State issued driver's license in good standing
- 4 years experience in spray painting techniques w/ airless spray systems
- 3-5 years experience in material handling
- 3-5 years experience in proper use of yard equipment
- Broad knowledge of SSPC standards
- OSHA-10 preferred but not required
- The hourly rate for this position is $22-$25/hr. This range is a good-faith estimate based on factors such as relevant skills, experience, education, training, geographic location and other considerations permitted by law. An employee’s pay history will not be a contributing factor where prohibited by local law.
